SACRAMENTAL MATTERS

The Sacraments are celebrated in the English language according to the Rites in use in the United Kingdom, in accordance with the universal law of the Church and the particular laws of the Archdiocese of Tarragona.  The Sacraments are open to those where English is their native language, or where they find that they would place English after their own native language, but before Catalan and Spanish as regards fluency and comprehension.

No charge will ever be made for providing the Sacraments, but please bear in mind the considerable costs involved in providing the Sacraments in English here in Catalunya and offer a suitable donation that reflects this.

At least one parent should be a practising Catholic, in good standing with the Church. Please contact us, preferably in person when you are at Sant Mateu, Riudecanyes for Sunday Mass, by email or by telephone before the birth of your baby so that suitable arrangements can be made.

Adult baptism and full initiation into the life of the Catholic Church involves a much longer period of preparation than does infant baptism.  Depending on the previous faith experience of the enquirer,  this period is normally of six months to two years in duration.
